Nothing certain but Death Knights, Taxes, and Love...

Good things:

Gets a little sessxxshy at the end, so won't be sharing it with the PG-13 crowd, but otherwise, pretty good stuff!

Dragon breath mints.

Morphemia, although not cured of her hemophilia, she is learning to live with it. Close to level 78, this beautiful Death Knight is one frosty chick. And although most of her spells make me think that someone left the freezer door open, or it's time to mix a martini, her fighting style is a thing of beauty.

I still have a lot to learn about this complicated class, but have always really liked the idea of a 'hero' class.

One idea I have is a hero class of dragon girls...why should Ysera have all the fun? Imagine a new class of dragon-oids running around in skimpy costumes by day, and rock-hard scales and claws in a fight?

Come on, Blizz...whaddya say? I know panda bears will be all the rage, but...but...but...

....dragons. It could work.

It's 6:15AM. Do you know where your Death Knight is? Links to 4.1 changes...

As my friend told me, this is the only "game" that gives you homework. Right now my GPA is sliding with the 4.1 changes. I'm not the only one. So, if you have time, you may want to check out these posts by more qualified bloggers than I:

There are plenty more of course, but get started on these, and there will be a pop quiz tomorrow.

Oh--and had the opportunity to "heal" the other night in a guild-run dungeon. (Yeah. How do you think it went?)

Dancing with myself...

Mat in Baradin Hold last night: Death Knight drank Potion of Illusion to look like her: but Mat's one-of-a-kind...

Wonderful post on leveling an enhancement shaman: full of the complexities and intricacies that make up Mat: http://psynister.wordpress.com/2011/03/29/shaman-leveling-1-29-enhancement/#comment-3148

The point is made that enhancement shamans are similar to Death Knights: maybe that explains why Mataoka's doppelganger Morphemia sits fixed at level 74.5: Mat's human just doesn't have the stamina to level another complicated character at the moment. She just needed some pew-pew with her hunter* or spam-aids on a lower level healer. She knows it gets much more complicated, every class has its nuances and dare she say: culture?

There have been a few tears shed when Mat's human thinks why-oh-why did she begin playing with a enhancement shaman? The learning curve has been really steep. Mountain-goat-hoof-steep. She just didn't know any better. Thus the ignorance of noobs.

They say there are no accidents. Mat's human is not so sure about that. Maybe..there are? Anyway, chaos, string or relativity theories aside - shrug - perhaps Mat was not this human's first character without some cosmic play. Mat's human is also: complex, known for the occasional short-burst rage, dual-hemi-wields, hybrid-dynamic chassis 4.8...oh wait. No. That's her truck. Nevermind. In any case, the human shares many traits with this shaman. Stand clear of her magma AoE when there is an injustice or if she just needs to call shenanigans on some bull. But keep close to her when she showers a healing rain over you. She always does what she can to make things better.

And that laugh*. The only difference between Mat's and her human's is her human's goes on longer, and a bit louder...but still ladylike.

*That's right, boys: Baradin Hold. Piece of Mana Cake.
*And BELIEVE ME - she knows how complicated hunters can be too - hers just isn't there yet.
*This is a female Draenei thing, not a shaman thing.

Morphing Morphemia...

Sometimes I wonder if I'm dead or alive. I live in a Morpheus dream-state; Epiales, the god of nightmares visits me frequently and socially, but this does not make me happy. Not knowing whether to damage monstrous souls with blight or bile, and the blood serves me poorly, too. I am an anemic Death Knight. I would eat raw shoveltusk steaks if I thought it would help.

Keeping balanced on my runes, and enough protection armor to see me and my minions safely through a difficult quest or dungeon hasn't been easy. I fail more than I succeed. Hero class? Me? Sometimes I just feel like a big phony. I got into this class by standing on the shoulder pads of greater players. No one can love me, or will. Not frisky and sweet like Mataoka, or fiercely independent like Haanta, the hunter, my Draenei ancestry only causes conflict within my fragile soul. Redemption and resurrection cannot clean the graveyard dirt from under my nails; no amount of scrubbing or repair can clear the conflicted emotions. Hanging out with the jovial and jocular Kalu'ak tribe, near Dragonblight, is warmth. Their friendly nature, down-to-earth advice, and warm blessing do cheer me.

However, I am still conflicted...should I tank, or damage? Should I just focus on damage, or brace myself to the criticisms, the slings and arrows of poor tanking? What if I make the wrong choice? What if everyone dies because of me? Do I want to be the biggest threat in the room, while simultaneously slipping further away from love and friendships? If I am under the spells of unholy damage, my minion faithfully serves by my side, but he is no match for a friendly fox pet or polar bear. He smells, too. Personal hygiene is not his forte. He's not much of a conversationalist either.

Note: many players get it right, though- http://forthebubbles.wordpress.com/2010/12/16/make-yourself-useful-the-cc-less-dps/
