Tome does not know this, but I wore my HOTFB all day long yesterday. Yup, even to work. Now, it seems that she has a magical mailbox, but I have this amazing helm. It is truly infused with supernatural powers. Not only did receive the fabulous sculpture of Mrs. Whitworth, but Shoryl of Tiny WoW Guild met up with me to give me a tiny shale spider! It's adorable! Now, here is where the day takes a twist. I was hunkered into getting Kellda's 3000 Valor Points for Wrathion (yes, that kid totally charmed me), and Heartichoke was working on a surprise for a buddy, when CD Rogue comes in the room telling me not good health news. He's fine, but it entailed a trip to the emergency room, CAT scan, MRI, and a long night of him worrying and me trying to get comfortable on a half-bench in his room. The place was empty except for some poor family whose baby must have been very sick, and cried for the hours we were there. It was all I could do not to go in there and try to help -- but it's hard to know if young parents want it or not. I know that cry, and that cry of a sick baby/child is not great. But after all the tests, poking, and prodding, he's fine (it is something, but not a stroke). Now we could say that's awful! Boo! And though it was not fun, it was not awful. I credit the HOTFB for its continuing protection and service.
I don't know what's wrong with me, although, when my circadian rhythm betrayed me once again this morning, there was this -- voice-- some crazy-brain Jiminy Cricket voice of my subconscious who spoke to me clear as day (Guardian angel? Spirit guide? Indigestion?) that said, and I quote, "It will never be the same. Accept it. Move on."
Whoa, Spirit Dude...what won't be the same? What should I let go? Oh, yeah, everything. Did Spirit Cricket Voice snake its way downstairs and make me coffee? Did it save me the last Krispy Kreme doughnut? Did it wash the dinner dishes? No. Its advice, while useful and timely, is all it had to offer. I do know that things are in a flux right now, many, not all, my playmates in Azeroth are dealing with forces I am not privy to, nor can I assist them.
It's no secret I lean toward the emotional side of personalities. (Understate much?) And while the upside to having a passionate, loyal, deeply engaged, and loving personality holds sparkling, glimmering perks for my family, friends, and colleagues (You need to talk, need a hug, share a secret, have someone come out swinging for you? I'm your girl) it also has its downsides: I need a little bit back, too. And when I don't feel that the scales are balanced, I usually speak up. And when I speak up, I inevitably get myself in hot water, and wonder where everyone went, or why are they upset now?
Where did everyone go? Is it something I said?
I wish -- oh how I have long wished -- for a Shamanistic Rage button I can push to show others when I am about to blow. And, if this spell worked in real life, the only alteration I would make is that everyone around me had reduced damage, too:
Jiminy Cricket Spirit Guide Angel Voice tried to reach me before my little hooves, er, toes hit the floor this morning. It tried, it really did. It tried to tell me there is nothing I can do for or about people I love, things they go through, that they can handle those burdens on their own, it's their journey, blah blah blah. The thing is for a big-mouth girl like me is sometimes the best thing I can do is to shut the hell up. Not sure I have that button. And then Tome posted her simple request to Blizzard, and their, in my opinion, hypocritical response. To war! Oh wait, you got it covered Tome? Under control? Okay, let me put this shammy rage back in my pocket.
Just for my own silliness, I donned the HOT-Fab and did all the LFRs that give the Rune Totem thingies that Wrathion wanted me to pick up for him. Guess what? I needed five more and...I got five more. My friend Señor was unaware I was wearing the helm (we did one LFR before he had to skedaddle), but I am sure he knows I am a dork, and perhaps if the HOTFB would work for him, too, that would be fine. Now Wrathion wants me to go get a cold, black heart out of Lei Shin. Okay, okay! Sheesh! Keep your turban on buddy! Even Dorothy only had to get one damn broomstick!
I have a tiny little sign I keep at work that says this:
So, Angel Cricket: I will endeavor to do better. To my friends, may you not feel my wrath, or have me cause you any pain or discomfort. To myself, ditto. No, things are never the same. We go in and out of lives for reasons, "they" say, and learn from each other. To those I am learning from, you are my Angel Crickets. Thanks.
Now I'm off to go find cold, black hearts. Hear they are the secret to Starbucks' coffee.
Okay - confession time. Since Tome confessed her 'no such thing as a free lunch to play' thing, I have to tell ya'll that a little while ago I...
...added
....back my second account. I parred down my DirecTV account, I stopped buying lattes, and I dig my own weeds, (or at least I think about it), so adding back that account is my treat to myself. But the real reason is I couldn't take it. That is how I love to play - lots of alts, mogging experiments, realm experiments, all kinds of fun. Less is more, you say? No. More is more when it comes to Azeroth.
But-- a word of caution.
Last night C.D. Rogue told me, cause I asked (foolish woman!) if something made me look chubby, and honest man that he is, gently, nicely, said...yes. I paraphrased and said, "So you're saying I have too much junk in my trunk?" Nod. It's true though. I haven't been getting off my derriere as much as I should, and there's been no excuse. None. It's been the most amazing June in the history of the time I've lived here. Normally June is rainy and soppy until after Fourth-of-July. So, time to move it.
So -- damn. I don't know what to do with all that junk, all that junk, all that junk...guess I'd better clean out my bags and bank, and go for a walk.
Tome led me to Euphyley's post about the big, green fightin' machine hunter pet, Gorishi Grub. The directions were clear, and very thorough. Because they were so clear I still had a few mishaps, because you know, the day's not complete unless I'm at the dentist and miss the little plastic cup to spit my fluoride and spit in my lap. Yes, I would rather tell people I wet my pants than that I missed a little cup right next to my mouth.
1. Because Tome accidentally killed the spawn and warned me not to, I had to do that, too. But another one spawned about 3-4 hours later.
2. I was sitting on the floor doing some work, glancing up at the screen every so often, when at one point I noticed a Level 90 Horde Death Knight of indiscriminate race taunting poor Haanta, doing the chicken emote, spitting on her, etc. in that tiny cave. So of course, Haanta /loved him, and /kissed him (turn the other cheek, I guess) and he /licked her and left. After she wiped off the Horde drool, she wished she had a mouthful of fluoride right about then.
3. Euphyley warns us all not to kill the Clutchmother, and she probably told us how to not to do this. However, I only looked at her maps and the one warning, because I did not anticipate that once tamed, I forgot to make it passive and it turned on its mother and siblings and quickly disposed of them. I am not sure I would have had time to even turn on passive mode, the carnage was swift and complete.
Now where's that Death Knight? I've got some fluoride for him...you know, to prevent decay...
So, here he is, in all his luscious green glory:
The best part about this pet is he stays large! How cool is that?
This has probably already been a Blogazeroth question, in one form or another, but I was thinking with all the new things we're excited about, what are three things that you will not "leave behind," no matter what, in the brave new world? Think of the farming you've been doing, the achievements and mounts you've been trying to get, the planning and preparation, whether you've played the Beta or not: but of all those things, there are things you have that are dear to you--what are they? Think of three things. Just three. This is definitely related to the things you keep in your bags/bank question, or the big "meta" about enjoyment of game, but here is the twist: I want a story, please, even if a short one. Let me know what souvenirs and toothbrushes you have along your journey.
Second, Erinys crafted a carefully constructed "how it should have been" response to Theramore that I feel fully gives it its gravitas, emotion, and the thoughtfulness we lovers of lore and stories felt it deserved:
I want to note this suggestion, as it too brought tears to my eyes:
Rewards:
Alliance:
A wand which is usable by everyone which conjures the smokey golden image of little giggling Gnome girl. At night if you’re by any street lamps which aren’t currently lit, as she floats past, they would automatically light. A permanent version of the one mentioned in the book which made me cry so much.
Third, Tzufit provides her readers with something I love, love love: a list!
